HOW TO GET RID OF BRASSY TONES IN THE HAIR.

Don’t you just love leaving the salon after you’ve just had your hair lightened and it looks so fresh and toned to perfection? Wouldn’t it be great if that same icy tone could last for the next few months to come? There are elements that play a huge part in your hairs color demise. Brassiness is a fact and there are products to help eliminate brassiness and preserve the tone. The elements that are working against your hair color and lifting the color out are chlorine, sun, saltwater, and shampoos with sulphates. There are also elements that build up on the hair causing brassiness. Those being mineral deposits from well water, your shower or swimming pool and Shampoos with silicones and parabens.

The best way to get rid of brassiness is to eliminate the use of these elements. But sometimes that is a challenge. A definite must for all blondes wanting to stay within the cool tones is to purchase a blue or purple shampoo. Some of my favorites we carry right here at FAB. STERLING SILVER BY AG and SCHWARTZKOPF COLOR SAVE SILVER SHAMPOO. Depending on the amount of brassiness in the hair may depend on the amount of time to let the shampoo sit on the hair as well as how often the shampoo is used. Sometimes, I will recommend that my clients use the purple shampoo every other shampoo if they only have a minimal amount of brassiness just to keep the hair bright and icy. It is also very important to use a conditioner with moisture. Treatments with protein should only be used once a week or once every two weeks. Hopefully, this bit of information will help and keep your hair looking its best until your next color service.
